Congress returns soon. Speak up for research funding.

Congress will return to Washington in September with final FY27 funding decisions still ahead. 

Before lawmakers resume that work, there is still time to join other UO Advocates asking Congress to reject harmful cuts and support strong federal research funding. 

UO students know firsthand what those investments make possible. 

Last year, UO graduate students won first place in The Science Coalition’s Student Video Challenge with a 90-second video about federal research funding and their work to improve healing outcomes for bone injuries.

Their video helps show what is at stake as Congress debates research funding, and why strong federal investment is essential to driving new discoveries and training the next generation of scientists and researchers. 

Your message can help show lawmakers that their constituents value strong federal support for research and innovation.
