Tim Inman, university secretary, is taking on an additional role he’s played on an interim basis since January 2023; Vice President of Government and Community Relations.

Inman has extensive expertise and experience in government. Before joining the University of Oregon in 2019, first as chief of staff to the Provost and then as university secretary for the UO Board of Trustees, Tim spent more than a decade in key staff roles in the House of Representatives and Oregon politics. For six years he worked for Oregon’s then-Speaker of the House Tina Kotek, first as legislative director and then as her chief of staff. Last fall, after the election, Tim took a partial leave from the university to lead Governor Tina Kotek’s transition team. Previously Tim worked as a legislative aide for two Eugene-area lawmakers and as a policy analyst for the Oregon Department of Energy.

Tim earned an undergraduate degree in history and a master’s degree in public policy, both from Oregon State University.

Tim will continue as university secretary, reporting to the Board of Trustees in that capacity. As vice president for Government and Community Relations, he will report to President Karl Scholz.
